Children's Ministry

Our purpose in ministering to children is to call them and equip them to live a life of wholehearted devotion to Jesus. We want to create an environment where they can experience God’s love for them through personal encounters with Him by His Holy Spirit. We want them to know His word, to know His presence, to know His power and to be bold in their determination to lay down their lives for His kingdom. They must have the first commandment in first place from an early age.

Mercy Ministry

We provide help to those in need within the body of Christ and the local community with whom we have relationship. We feel the heart of God is revealed to us in James 1:27: 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress. The Vineyard Café, operating under the Mercy Ministry, runs once a month and provides a hot meal following the Sunday morning service. Many friends from the streets surrounding the church join us for this meal. We also keep a well-stocked pantry to provide hampers of food for those who are in our circle of friends and are less fortunate. Caring for the poor and the lonely and interacting with them as friends and people of dignity are high values of the church.

We want to encourage ministry that fosters connection and care within the congregation. This is done by modelling a life of hospitality within the community, welcoming people and paying attention to their needs, in ways that impart God’s grace and blessing. We try to offer care to a variety of people, rich and poor, young and old, ethnically diverse…in a variety of life situations. In the Brandon area, we have experienced unprecedented growth in immigration. Much of our foreign mission work is now being conducted in our own city.

The Brandon Vineyard places a high priority on worship. We worship God on the premise that it is for Him that we do it, out of love and adoration. In music God has given us a wonderful tool to use in our worship. Many people have found that the words and melody of a song can express what is in their heart far better that they ever could without the song. We sing to God, our hearts expressing love and affection and our minds affirming God’s truth by the words of the song. Our worship teams strive to create a place where God’s Spirit can impact our own spirits and we can connect with Him.

Intercession & Prayer

In the Brandon Vineyard, we use the Harp and Bowl model of intercession that is being used by Houses of Prayer around the earth. In Joel 2 we find instruction that is relevant for us today: stop everything and seek Him for He is gracious and compassionate and slow to anger. He does leave blessing and it is right to seek Him in this. As we press into God and offer our worship to Him as an “audience of One”, we know that He is eager to reveal His heart for others and longs for us to ask on their behalf. By turning our eyes to heaven and acquiring a revelation of the throne, we offer our prayers, knowing that right now the LORD is on His throne and His kingdom rules over all.

Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry at the Brandon Christian Fellowship is designed to call young people into their primary identity as lovers of Jesus and those who are deeply loved by Him. We invite them into the lifestyle of “One Thing”. As Mary of Bethany, who sat at the feet of Jesus and listened to His Word, the youth are encouraged towards passionate whole-hearted love for Jesus empowered by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Our purpose is to equip youth to live their whole lives walking in partnership with Jesus.
